I was involved with the EP cover visual concept development for Lorelei Marcell's EP single, "Middleground" (2024).
Collaborating on the artist's EP cover design, I played a key role in shaping the creative vision from concept to completion. I guided brainstorming sessions with the artist to explore themes and emotions that best represented the song.
Marcell, described her song Middleground as evoking an endless space—caught between an empty void and the feeling of falling, lost. Building on her vision, I imagined a figure reaching out with their hands as they fall, symbolizing longing for a lost love and feeling out of control.
Drawing inspiration from a variety of album covers and art styles, I refined the aesthetic direction, including influences like Lennon Stella's Three. Two. One. album (2020), featuring a figure falling from the sky, and the style of the figures of Matisse's The Dance.
Through research and discussions, I helped define the visual storytelling element, composition, and color pallete, ensuring the design aligned with the artist's brand and personalized narrative. While I was not involved in the final digital construction, my conceptualization and strategic input established the foundation for a cohesive and aesthetic final EP piece.
